December 2007 - Parish Magazine Update

December is here and Christmas time is fast approaching us once more. The children are already busy with their festive preparations, diligently making their Christmas decorations for their homes and Christmas trees

This year, the children will be making Christmas Party crowns, to celebrate with at their end of term party. To make the party really special, the children will be entertained by a favorite of both staff and children of Chapel Lane Pre-school, Gary the Clown. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a visit from one very important individual and so the party is rounded off with Father Christmas coming to greet all the children and bring them their own special gift.

The pre-schoolers always throughly enjoy making things to take home for their parents as special mementos, so this ear we have helped our pre-schoolers write a poem for their parents to keep. As well as their own poems, we will also be enjoying other simple poems and rhymes with the children this month, providing an early introduction into rhyming words and alliteration.

The final rehersals of our annual Nativity Play will also take place this month, as the performance is only a couple of weeks away. This year the 'butterflies' (the older children who will be leaving us in July) will perform the Nativity play. However the younger 'caterpillars' will not miss out as they will have the opportunity of performing a carol service for their parents, at the end of our Christmas Party.

Thank you to every one who supported us at our Christmas Fair at the end of last month. It is as a result of these fund raising activities that we can provide and fund all the activities that the children of Chapel Lane Pre-school enjoy so much.
